Builder: Jachtwerf Haringvliet, Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands, in 1968.

A superb example of the much-admired Superharingvlietkruiser, fresh from a two-year GBP 30,000 refit of hull and accommodation. Her owner lived aboard her after buying the yacht in the Netherlands in 2006 and is now wintering abroad. A 2016 survey is available for inspection.

Engines: Twin 6-cylinder DAF 575 105 hp [78,29Kw] diesels, metricised Leyland design with a great reputation for long life, driving phosphor-bronze shafts and 3-bladed contra-rotating propellers through hydraulic gearboxes, delivering 8.5 knots on 7 litres per hour fuel consumption. Jabsco engine room blower, De-Bug fuel cleaning system and 1000 litre fuel tank. The port engine [3500 hours] and the starboard engine [3300 hours] are keel-cooled. The keel-cooling system has been totally renewed during the re-fit.

Instruments at Helm: Voltmeter, oil pressure, gearbox pressure, coolant temperature, ammeter, engine speed, rudder indicator, bow thruster indicator, inverter control, autopilot indicator.

Electrical and Navigational system: Two domestic and 2 engine starting batteries, all new in 2016, alternators on both engines, solar charging from panels on wheelhouse. Electric power includes bilge pump, holding tank pump and navigation lights. The Victron 750 inverter is currently disconnected. Victron 24V battery charger, VDO log, VDO depth indicator, VDO wind-speed and direction indicator, VDO fluxgate compass, VDO magnetic compass, Autohelm ST 6000 hydraulic autopilot, Raytheon Echostar fishfinder, Sailor RT2048 VHF radio, C-Map chart plotter with Panasonic Toughbook, Furuno global positioning, Furuno 1700 radar on stainless steel arch, Amcor free-standing air conditioner, Klaxon air horns, Safesure galvanic isolator, Eberspächer warm air heater, petrol generator.

Hull: A606-4 steel, high strength, low alloy 5mm sheet with improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel. Type 4 has four times the atmospheric corrosion resistance of structural carbon steel. The steel round-bilged hull flaring to hard chine with long keel, riveted and welded by Compier. Professionally repaired and overhauled below waterline in 2016. Steel decks on deck beams overlaid with teak 2.5cm thick. A steel rubbing strake protects the joint between hull and deck. Brazilian mahogany topsides fitted with copper-chromed window frames by van Joolingen craftsmen. The topsides are in original painted white enamel. An electric bow thruster is fitted. The steering is controlled from the helm by hydraulic rams to tiller arms with common rod connection to each rudder stock head with an electro-hydraulic pump controlled from the autopilot. New mild steel rudders in 2016 with integral stocks supported on bearings and protected by steel skegs.

Deck gear: Hydraulic steering. Forged steel Byers anchor and stainless steel Danforth anchor with 24V electric windlass and chain, stainless steel mooring cleats, pulpit, stanchions and tensioned guard wires. Searchlight, new swimming platform, teak table, boarding ladders, fenders, warps and cushions. Winter covers, stern davits with aluminium-hulled rigid inflatable boat with outboard motor, fully equipped with oars. Shore power connections with distribution panel protected by circuit breakers. Port, starboard, stern and steaming lights.

Safety gear: Jabsco blower in engine room, bilge pumps, four fire extinguishers, smoke alarm, carbon-dioxide alarm, gas locker vented to exterior of hull, lifebuoys.

Accommodation: Six permanent berths, two in aft owner's cabin with clothes locker, washbasin with hot and cold supply, radio cassette player and television screen, four berths in forepeak with washbasin and storage lockers. The Eberspächer warm air heater was serviced 2012. The carpeted and curtained deck saloon [1.92m headroom] is fitted with sliding doors, dinette seating, lockers, television, bookcases, table, armchair and navigating chairs. The shower room is fitted with washbasin and 2004 electric sea lavatory. The shower is connected to the pressurise hot and cold water system supplied from a 1000 litre water tank. There is also a hot and cold shower fitted externally by the bathing platform. The forward coachroof was replaced in September 2017 after accidental damage.

Galley:Stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water supply from 2016 MountainNet Fastar electrically-ignited gas boiler to mixer tap, microwave oven, cupboards, Electrolux refrigerator, folding two-burner stove, induction hotplate.

As SAN REMO, this classic yacht was family-owned, treasured and cruised for many years in the Netherlands. Her present owner, a lifelong yachtsman, has maintained her to a high standard. She is offered, EU VAT paid, at the marina in the heart of Liverpool with 2014-16 maintenance records available for inspection.
